15 Foods To Avoid On The Candida Diet

What Is Candida Infection?

#1 Starchy and Processed Vegetables:

White potatoes, sweet potatoes, yams, parsnips, deep-fried, canned or processed vegetables, and mushrooms, with the exception of shitake mushrooms, pasteurized, heat-sealed sauerkraut, pickles or pickled vegetables containing white vinegar.

#2 Sweetened Sea Seaweed:

Do not eat the sweet sea vegetable salads found in Japanese restaurants because they contain sugar.

#3 Sweet Fruits:

Eat no fruit other than grapefruit, apples, berries, and lemons or limes, period. Do not drink bottled fruit juices or eat any dried fruit during the Candida Cleanse.

#4 Non-Sweet Fruits:

Cooked tomato, eggplant.

#5 Sugar, sweets and treats:

No sugar is allowed of any kind. Do not eat white, brown, raw, cane, date, or any other type of sugar including molasses, honey, maple syrup, agave syrup, corn syrup or artificial sweeteners of any kind. Do not drink soda, diet drinks, Italian sodas, or beverages containing sucrose, glucose, fructose, or anything that sounds like a sugar substitute or is added to a bottled drink. Avoid all sugar variations, including artificial sweeteners. Only stevia is allowed.

#6 Processed Meat:

Do not eat pork, or any conventional meat or poultry, processed lunchmeats, smoked meat, jerky, or protein snacks that contain sugar. Avoid conventional eggs, seitan (a vegan protein made from wheat), as well as fried or breaded protein foods. Do not eat shellfish of any kind, including (though not limited to) lobster, crab, shrimp, oysters, scallops, muscles or clams.

#7 Grains:

White, bleached, unbleached or enriched flour or flour products including breads and pasta, most conventionally produced crackers, and of course, all baked or fried desserts, which contain both flour and sugar. White rice, couscous, and oatmeal are not eaten while Candida cleansing.

#8 Beans:

Pinto beans, baked beans, canned beans, soy sauce or tamari, Liquid Aminos.

#9 Nuts and Seeds:

Roasted nuts and nut butters, peanuts, and peanut butter.

#10 Fats:

Refined, hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats and oils, including margarine, lard, shortening, and non-dairy creamers.

#11 Dairy:

All non-organic or pasteurized milk and dairy products, especially those containing sugar.

#12 Beverages:

Alcohol, caffeine.

#13 Condiments:

Vinegar, with the exception of raw apple cider vinegar. No other vinegar is allowed including wine, white, balsamic, raspberry or champagne vinegar.

#14 Tap Water:

No tap or unfiltered water of any kind.

#15 Miscellaneous:

Avoid commercial fruit smoothies, most of which are sweetened and often are made with a variety of sorbets, fruit juices, and sugary syrups; yeast; fried chips.
